EPCOS / TDK CeraCharge™ Rechargeable Solid-State SMD Battery

Author : Epcos Published Time : 2019-08-22
TDK CeraCharge™ Solid-State SMD Battery is the first solid-state rechargeable battery in SMD technology. CeraCharge can perform up to 1000 charge/discharge cycles and allows easy placement and processing using reflow soldering techniques. TDK CeraCharge contains no liquid electrolyte and is based on multilayer technology. This technology means that a relatively high energy density and small volume are combined with the safety and high-volume manufacturing benefits of ceramic multilayer components. The solid ceramic element rules out the risk of fire, explosion, or leakage of liquid electrolyte. This solid-state SMD battery comes in a 4.4 x 3 x 1.1mm package and offers 100µAh nominal capacity at a rated voltage of 1.5V. This battery is ideal for Internet of Things applications, including real-time clocks, BLUETOOTH® beacons, and energy harvesting systems.
